While details about ABC’s Avengers universe spinoff S.H.I.E.L.D. are still quite scarce, the pieces are coming together… with an interesting twist. Today, according to IGN, ABC president Paul Lee confirmed that S.H.I.E.L.D. is indeed set AFTER The Avengers.

If not- this might do it: it was previously announced that S.H.I.E.L.D. would star none other than Clark Gregg, best known as everyone’s favorite Agent Phil Coulson.

Now given these two facts… do we dare to dream? That Coulson may have somehow survived The Avengers, to see the light of a new day? Only time will tell, readers, but my heart beats a rapid staccato at the thought.
