John Watson - Sherlock Holmes’ moral compass

I like to think these moments are where they (supposedly; where do I remember hearing this?) cut lines that were intended to be John’s opportunity to show humor, but Martin Freeman thought they were too showy. So instead they just replaced them with John saying Sherlock’s name in that resigned, oh-we’re-doing-this-again voice and it’s just a little John Watson-sized pile of perfection.

I love the “Sherlock. Timing.” Which is John-speak for “I know this gets you off but my God can you wait to wank over it when you’re out of this poor traumatized man’s presence? Jesus.” So much said in so little, and yeah, it’s just perfect.

For Alex and Devin, the ladies who run fuckyeahjohnlockfanfic. They read and thoughtfully review hundreds and hundreds of stories for our benefit. Certainly for mine, since accidentally running across angst can ruin my whole day, and they always have a good fluff recommendation when your heart is hurting from some Reichenbach shenanigans. They both also happen to be very talented, thoughtful, brilliant and bighearted girls, and recently helped someone who was contemplating suicide. So I thought I would do something nice for them, because they put a lot of time and effort in just to make us all happy.

Alex is seated on the left and Devin on the right, and they have a special love for Disney World. I really should’ve given somebody mouse ears.

And I know this is totally ridiculous. I mean, come on. Sherlock wouldnever go out without his gloves.

#okay just a little point here: i’m not saying that it’s the same #but the Irene scene made me think #look at all the meals scenes #we NEVER see sherlock actually eating anything #and yet he’s always there when John does #we know he never eats while on a case but why should he stay with John while he eats? #wouldn’t he consider it a waste of his time? #he could just leave John behind and carry on with the case but no #he always stays with him even if he’s not hungry #whether they’re on a case or not #sherlock stays with John
